STOP SMASHING MY MELONS!!!
QT Imaging is definitely a better way to scan your breasts. I will never forget the first time that I went in to have a mammogram. It was something that I absolutely dreaded. To me it seemed like such an out-of-touch type of screening especially with so many advancements in technology.
I would love to know who came up with the idea of squeezing a breast between two plates and then radiating the H–L out of it?! DEFINITELY NOT A WOMAN!!! Two men created the current day mammogram! Undoubtedly those men would not enjoy having their private parts put through such a grueling process!
It’s Just a Small Dose
There is a lot of irony in how they tell you “It’s just a small dose”. They make this statement as they put on protective gear or stand behind a shield to make sure that they are not getting exposed to the radiation. Yes, they are running the machines every day and have a lot more exposure but what are the cumulative effects of radiation? Exposure to radiation happens on a daily basis. Radiation comes from the sun, our computers, lights, electrical devices, TVs, and the devices that are practically glued to our hands. There really is not much we can do about that but we can reject the additional radiation from mammograms.
Here is some information on the accumulation of radiation: “How Long Does Radiation Stay in Your Body” – Barrier Technologies. You should understand that radiation can cause cancer. This is particularly true when it is ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation has enough energy to damage DNA and this leads to mutations that may result in cancer. This makes a person have to wonder why they push it on patients. Our bodies cannot heal with these constant assaults!

About Dense Breast Tissue
Did you know that radiation can cause soft tissue to harden? Radiation fibrosis is the result of this hardened tissue. Could our annual mammograms be causing us to have denser breast tissue? They say no but there is no way to determine this. For hard evidence a study needs to be done comparing women who routinely have mammograms to those who do not. They have scared us all into having mammograms so a study like this would be impossible!
One thing for certain radiation therapy does cause radiation fibrosis and dense breasts. When I had my radiation consult the specialist told me that my breast would be hard as a result of radiation therapy. This specialist also informed me that my lung would be scarred and that they would try to prevent radiating my heart. WTH?! No Thank You!!!
Treat Your Breasts With Kindness
Mammograms are not great however I am not going to throw the baby out with the bath water. Mammograms do have value. They are great for performing a stereotactic breast biopsy or for inserting a lead wire before breast surgery. Mammogram technology has been in use since 1969. I believe that 56 years is long enough and that we need to look for a better, less invasive way to prescreen for breast cancer. One that is gentler and does not have any of that undesirable radiation.

God Bless Dr. Jenn Simmons
Dr. Jenn Simmons has an amazing healing story of her own and is at the forefront of bringing a new breast screening technology for women. PerfeQTion Imaging offers mammographic screening without the smashing and radiation that comes from a traditional mammogram. In my opinion this should be available at every breast clinic in every state for the prescreening of breast cancer.
QT Imaging is a technology that uses low frequency soundwaves to create a 3-dimensional image of your breasts. Think of it as a spa day for your breasts! No smashing and no radiating! This technology also provides more data points and can see through dense breast tissue, something mammograms cannot do.

My PerfeQT Day with QT Imaging
The first thing that I have to say about PerfeQTion Imaging is that they truly pay attention to details. When you walk in you truly feel that you are walking into a spa for a day of pampering. Everything has splashes of pink coloring. Even the parking spaces!

Preparation for the QT Imaging
The PerfeQTion team has you change into a comfy robe and soft, fuzzy, pink socks. I love those socks! They then take you into the scanning room where the imaging machine is located.

So Much More Comfortable!
This is so much better than a traditional mammogram without any doubt.
- You lay on the top of the machine and place one of your breasts into the center of the water bath.
- The technician makes sure that you are comfortable and lowers the water bath.
- Your breast is centered by the technician.
- The water bath is brought back up, the lights are dimmed, soft music is played and you rest there for 12 minutes while the machine takes the images.
- This is repeated on the other side to complete the scanning.
I was informed by Tabia that some women fall asleep while getting scanned. I believe it!

You Are In Good Hands
My PerfeQTion Imaging was done at the Haverford, PA location. Tabia and Joya are so wonderful and they make you feel truly cared for. Joya runs the front desk and Tabia is the technician. During my second visit/six-month follow-up, my husband stayed in the room with me and the technician to see how the scan was done. Afterwards he waited for me in their gorgeous waiting room.

These Tissue Boxes Are Too Cute!

Canary in the Coal Mine
Have you ever thought that maybe your breasts are trying to tell you something? Well I certainly do! Torturing my breasts seems like torturing the canary.
No matter what your views are on conventional, integrative, or alternative therapies I believe that we can all agree that there needs to be a better, less intrusive, less torturous way to screen for breast cancer. If we ban together then we can force the insurance companies to cover QT Imaging and the institutions to provide this type of screening everywhere.
Ladies are you with me?

My Healing Journey Continues!
I have been on a DCIS healing journey since I was first diagnosed in 2016. I have added a new protocol and have just received these amazing results from my last QT Imaging scan – a shrinking lesion!!! It is my goal now to continue the protocol until the lesion is gone and my body is fully healed. One thing is a certainty, you can do anything when you set your mind to it.

Cathy,
Thank you for posting this vital and encouraging information for women. There’s not just a another way to do breast cancer screening, but a “better way!” So glad you are sharing your journey on your blog. I hope many readers will come across this post and a heightened awareness be generated as a result. And, yes, more of these centers would be wonderful! I know you made a long-distance trip to get to this one (but it was worth it!). Women are tired of being manipulated and scared by breast cancer and want to engage non-invasive ways of screening as their first step toward health maintenance and treatment. Bravo to you for opening a much needed door of hope. God bless you! Pres. C.
