Fresh Produce
You’ll find a bounty of produce at farmers markets among other things. What a pleasure it is to attend and support the local Farms. There are a wide variety of offerings and the colors are just spectacular! You never know what you may find.
Local Markets
Be sure to check your area for local markets. Depending on the time of year you can find them outside or inside. If your local farms have greenhouses you may be able to find some fresh vegetables even in winter. I’ve been stopping by the outdoor Bangor Farmers’ Market on Sundays and…
…I’ve found some of the most beautiful produce including Organic cherry tomatoes,
carrots,
Heirloom tomatoes,
hot peppers,
parsley, radishes, basil, onions, garlic, zucchini, cucumbers,
flowers,
dairy products,
etc., etc., etc.
I’ve got to say that it’s hard not to buy everything in sight. Everything is so vibrant!
Nothing Like Farm Fresh!
When you attend a Farmers Market you can be assured that everything is as fresh as it can be. That means that anything that you make using the ingredients will have so much flavor and contain so many more nutrients! And nothing tastes like a locally grown, organic, heirloom tomato, sliced and adorned with just a bit of extra-virgin olive oil, Mediterranean sea salt and fresh basil. So FRESH! š
